That’s how it’s supposed to work – you need to disable Web Shop MIDI to use MIDI Out 🙂

“Matching” is a general match for the entire groove compared to the pattern in the Tap2Find box (the rhythm you added).

“Bar Matching” is another algorithm that compares smaller sections of each groove to the Tap2Find pattern.

An example is adding a pattern in Tap2Find that matches one bar perfectly in a groove, but the rest of the groove is totally different. This would yield a high “Bar Matching” percentage, but a low “Matching” percentage.

But for most of the time, it’s enough to focus on the “Matching” column since it will give grooves with a general feel that resembles the Tap2Find pattern a higher score!

I hope this quite advanced answer gave you some insight 🙂

Unfortunately not. You have to translate what the polychord is built of and write the chord for that.

So for example, you have to write G7♯11♭9 instead of  G major over D♭ major. This may not create two triads, as a G over D♭ suggests, but the same tonality should be there.

You can always create these polychords in the Grid Editor manually, or draw the two chords from the polychord to see what the combined chord is.

In the attached screenshot I drew a D# major over C major and EZkeys 2 (Session Organ) told me it was a C 7♯9

I’ll write it down as a feature request since it’s useful in many genres!

If you add a melody to Bandmate it will try to interpret what chords the melody plays, which isn’t the same as harmonizing (adding musical matching chords). However, the chords you get will probably be in the correct song key and you can change them to your liking.

When you have done that, drag the finished groove to the song track of EZkeys 2 and you can get suggestions for other chord progressions, using “Suggest Chords”, from the same song key as your groove.

i’m using reaper and the latest version of EZKeys and i’m not sure if something is being glitchy or if there is a conflict somewhere but when i got to the key change editor to select a key it’s forcing only sharps even though the previous key was flat and it says it’s flat (pictured below). however when i go into the sub menu to select a new key it only displays sharps.

im using this project as a practice tool and i have probably 20 key changes elsewhere and this it’s only from this point forward that it’s forcing sharps. i’m only using the midi within EZK and not a midi item in the timeline so nothing should be conflicting there, at least. thanks for any help!

Can you save an EZkeys 2 project and attach it to a post here so we can have a look at it?

It’s a weird behaviour so you don’t have to try to make sense of it 🙂

We’ll have a look at it!
