Ah, sorry, I thought you were asking for Superior Drummer 3
Ha.
The thread is titled “LOGIC PRO X DRUMMER DRIVING EZDRUMMER 2” and the video clearly shows EZDrummer 2, yet somehow Superior Drummer 3 got into the picture.
Yes, I do own Superior Drummer 3 as well.
If you watch the video, it’s a little more than just mapping. I would take the time to at least watch the video and yes, the script will work with not just Toontrack products, but all MIDI drum products being driven by Logic Pro X Drummer.
The script I have to switch out drum pieces is available for download here at LogicProHelp website.
There is also a Logic Drummer preset in <em>MIDI In</em> settings page!
In EZDrummer 2?
I don’t see it. Can you post a screen shot of this.
Why does it seem like we are all growing older and more mature, but EZkeys has never aged (Still version 1.2.5)! Come on guys lets grow up. Certainly I am not the only one who has ideas for how this program can mature along with us.
I’m just curious, do you have a Soundcloud page with stuff you’ve done with EZKeys.
I’d like to hear what you’ve done so far with it.
Hello
I tend to take demos people make and then figure out the chords. Then I figure the key and change the key on EZkeys which changes all my chords again.
…
Is there a better workflow?
Thanks
Yes, ask for the sheet music from the original composer.
Why would you even attempt to figure anything out when the original composer would just give you sheet music for his original composition.
Hi Forum!
Here is a big, new issue with my EZMix 2 and my DAW. When I start to work with my Audio workstation which runs with Cubase 9.5 Pro, I trun off the NIC (via Windows Adapter settings > disable). This is best practice as LAN/NIC have a negative impact to audio performance.
Just recently I noticed that my EZMix 2 is not loaded in my projects in this situation. Once I re-add the plugin it pops-up with the license request, giving me the option to login with my account details or do an offline authorization. This is of course nonsens, as my product is licenced and my computer is activated.
Once I turne on my NIC again, everything is fine. But again, why is an Internet connection a must after authorization? This is annyoing!
Hope this can be sorted out. I am also not willing to try another offline registration, as my system shows as activated in the Toontrack manager.
Regards
Sascha
An internet connection isn’t required once you authorize EZMix. I just disabled my WI-FI and was able to start EZMix with no issue.
Regarding you comment on NIC affects audio performance. That has to do with other programs (services) that run in the background and do things like checking for updates thru the internet. You should figure out which one or more of those services are doing that and stop them from doing that.
On my Mac I have Little Snitch, this app tells me who’s doing that and I can disable all connections from doing anything in the background.
Hi,
AFAICT, the notes that go missing when dragged into EZkeys directly are overlapped notes from an earlier note.
I do not know if this is intended behaviour or not but I’ll forward it to my colleagues.
BR,
John
Wanna hear something funny. I made the chords all the way to the next chord because of what you see in the attached picture.
There’s a cutoff at 16 and EZKey’s will only generate in a MIDI Region, not to the next bar.
So as you can see the shorten notes have no missing notes which is what I want anyways. I already have a work-around regarding the missing gap at the end.
Thanks for the heads up on this.

The Randomize Chords function is looking at the current song Key, and chords in the top of the Circle of Fifths (chord selector) is more probable to be selectedIt doesn’t take into consideration chords that are already placed on the song track.
This is, however, something we have thought of and we have added it to our feature request list – since it would be useful to analyse surrounding chords!
Thanks for the reply and info and look forward in case this gets implemented in a future release.

Because EZdrummer 2 isn’t a General MIDI sound module.
All Toontrack libraries are drum-centric (with the exception of the Latin Percussion EZX) and use an extension of the General MIDI standard to be able to handle an extended set of articulations.
All the drum libraries will play back GM drums MIDI correctly but the Toontrack MIDI will not play back correctly with your GM module. Feeding GM percussion MIDI into Toontrack plugins will not sound as intended.
The adding of the Percussion pads in EZdrummer 2, is a clever way to add percussion to your EZdrummer 2 tracks without ruining the compatibility across the Toontrack range of MIDI and libraries.
This is from the EZDrummer Manual
3.8 ADDING GROOVES TO THE BROWSER
MIDI purchased directly from Toontrack will be added automatically using the installer included with those additional products. You may however want to extend and customize the library with 3rd party MIDI packs or your own.
The process is very straightforward: select the ‘Add Folder to
User Libraries’ entry from the Browser’s contextual menu and
locate the folder you would like to add on your hard drive. The folder
and its content will then appear at the bottom of the Browser, on the left hand side.
The 3rd party MIDI packs that I’ll add are General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set for drums, what you’re saying is they won’t play properly. If that’s true, can you update your manual to state that because it’s misleading. The 3rd party MIDI files do contain clap, shaker and tambourine.
FYI- Logic Drummer generates General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set notes. I’ve matched them up with EZDrummer 2 and they’re all there except for the three I mention.
This is for anyone who’s using Logic Pro X, I wrote a simple MIDI Plug-in Script to handle the incorrect notes for clap, shaker and tambourine in EZDrummer 2.

See this FAQ regarding the EZD 2 percussion:
http://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-trigger-the-ezdrummer-2-percussion/
I read that and it makes no sense to my question.
I created this video that shows how I take off all the drum pieces on a particular MIDI drum beat and then add only Hand Clap, Shaker and Tambourine. All within EZDrummer 2 which is loaded in Logic Pro X.
I then drag that MIDI region from EZDrummer 2 into Logic Pro X on the track that EZDrummer is on. I delete the MIDI region in EZDrummer 2 then play Logic Pro X.
As you can see in the video, everything plays fine, no problem.
Now back to my original question, The MIDI Manufacturers Association has defined in it’s General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set
Hand Clap at D#1
Shaker at A#3
Tambourine at F#2
but EZDrummer 2 has them defined as
Hand Clap at C#-2
Shaker at D-2
Tambourine at D#-2
It plays fine if I use the above notes that EZDrummer 2 requires, but why didn’t EZDrummer use the defined notes from the General MIDI Level 1 Sound Set from the MIDI Manufacturers Association.

One other thing, from http://www.toontrack.com/faq/ I couldh’t find that link you posted. It’s almost like you have to know it’s there.

Apparently you can only mark one posted as answered, but you help me out as well. Thanks.
After I do that then I would have to go into Superior Drummer 2 and just make sure it still sees the same folders?
Thanks for the info and now I’m assuming there’s no EZMover application any more or just don’t use that anymore.
Once I go thru that process that’s in the link you provided I’m assuming I won’t fall back into that original error again. The reason I ask is from time to time I do reformat my hard drive to keep it fresh. Sort of a long winded defrag.
Thanks for your help.
Okay, that’s what the problem was.
The installer is not reconizing where the expansion kits are located even though I used Toontrack Mover or EZMover what ever it’s called.
So I copied all my expansion packs back to the system drive where EZDrummer 1 originally loaded them, then ran all the new updates so EZDrummer 2 can see them and that worked.
Now I’m waiting for Toontrack Support to let me know how can I move them back to my external hard drive where EZDrummer 2 will still see them.
@gseshleman said:
My guess is that you only need to reinstall EZDrummer2, not your EZX expansions – downloading it only if you don’t still have the installation file on your hard drive.
I suspect that you need to download and apply the updates for your EZX expansions and possibly the the updates for SuperiorDrummer.
I read that you only needed to use the latest updates for each expansion pack.
See this link.
http://www.toontrack.com/faq/will-my-ezdrummer-1-libraries-ezxs-work-in-ezdrummer-2/
Although, I did try what you suggested as well, I installed the original EZDrummer 3GB install, then the 2.0.2 update followed by the core library update.
Then for my first test I did the update to the Electronic expansion pack and I got that same error.
In the meantime I did another test and found out what the issue is.
The update for each expansion pack to let EZDrummer 2 let each expansion pack get added to its list as available kits, the problem is, it’s not looking where I have the library which is on my external drive. I used Toontracks Mover application to move to another location.
So I copied Electronic to the system drive where EZDrummer originally puts it’s expansion packs and then ran the latest updated for Electronic expansion pack and sure enough, I got no install error and EZDrummer 2 now sees my Electronic expansion pack as an available kit, after I reauthorized it again too.
So now my next question to Toontrack support is, can I still use Mover or is that still available so I can move back to the external drive (more for updating any config files) so EZDrummer 2 will have no issues with seeing all my purchase expansion packs?
There was a reason why I did move to an external drive.
I just submitted to the Support Portal and you guys responded and updated my account with the Randy Staub Pack.
You guys ROCK!!
Thanks so much.
