FreeformxAlso (noobie here): Playing a 20-year old TD-8 V-Drums kit and was experiencing the same. After adjusting levels inside the drum brain, I also found cranking up the MIDI volume (lower right corner of SD’s interface) works like a charm for upping the volume!
