I have my Roland TD-07 connected but have an issue I can’t seem to get past. When I click the snare on the graphic, it sounds nice. However, when I hit my snare on my E-Drum it doesn’t sound the same; it’s quieter and kind of muted. I know I have it set to trigger properly because if I change the tuning then it changes for both (mouse click and E-Drum strike).

Why don’t they sound the same?

Most likely, the difference is that when you strike the pad, the TD-07 sends the actual strike velocity, whereas a mouse click always triggers a sample at maximum or fixed volume. Therefore, the sound from the pad may be quieter and more muted, even if the trigger settings seem correct. The type of articulation (center, rim, rimshot) transmitted when struck can also have an effect.
