I allways find my self using one of these…

[*]Guitar Rig 3 : Great sounding audio engine, the guitars fit right into the mix nicely with the presets that come with it. Pleanty of FX and endles routing options.

[*]Amplitube 2 (With all the expansions) : IMHO The best, most natrual sounding amp simulator. It has a really deep rich sound with pleanty of dynamic range. Which most other amp modeling software lacks. It’s Ideal everything! However, I was never totally sold by the FX that come with it. Also, not as many routing options.

[*]Waves GTR – Great soundinding but a little thin to my ears. However, Waves GTR by FAR has the best sounding FX out of all of them. You can make some really awesome organic synth sounds and some really cool delay, chours FX. Also has pleanty of routing options.

    So the results are:

      [*]Amplitube[*]Waves GTR[*]Guitar Rig

Anyone have a good site to learn some tapping licks? It seems to be the one thing I can’t really find much on…

Oh my lord. I just tried out all the Sonnox (Sony Oxford) plug ins and I think they sound way better than any of the Waves plug ins. They sound so.. I dunno. “right” to my ears. Fuller? smoother? more natrual? I can’t put my finger on it I just like what ever it is I can hear.

I compaired Sonnox EQ to Waves Q10, Ren EQ, SSL EQ, VEQ and the API EQs. If I were to put them in order it’d be.

      [*]Sonnox[*]API[*]VEQ
      [*]SSL
      [*]Q10[*]Ren EQ

Waves sound slightly digital to me now. Like they’re missing some charicter I can only assume the real hardware has. Don’t get me wrong they’re still great but I never was as blown away by the sound like I just was with Sonnox. Yum.

That’s seriously brilliant! That plug-in has the potentioal to reshape the way multi sample librarys are made. That guy is a genius.

ok, for those who haven’t heard about it: Ampeg SVX from ik multimedia.
once i heard about it i was kind of sceptcal but once i bought it.. wow.

the ampeg plug is not only useable for heavily distorted sounds, it goes from bob marley thru sting to meshuggah with ease!!

it’s quite expensive but I reckon, if i can find ONE sound out of it.. it’s still cheaper than any quality bass rig out there.

oh, since the language in this thread is quite radical: .. buy this plug dudez!! it’z figgin RAD! do NOT keeps it on the DL.

Did you make the purchace? It sounds so bad ass when you’ve got your bass hooked up to a decent preamp!

I just got my hands on Waves API collection – My goodness it sounds amazin! I’ve been spending a couple hours compairing it to the SSL pack and I think API’s EQ’s sound alot nicer than the SSL’s. I found that the SSL sounded a little thin and harsh on some things. Where as API’s EQs sound alot smoother.

The API compressor’s quite snazy too. Sounds fantastic on the drum tracks espesh’ when you crank up the gain. It’s got a nice punch to it and I really like the fact you can switch between the old and new circuitry. Yum. Having said that I think I prefer the SSL Master Channel Compressor. It has a fatter more definded warmth to it. Yes’m much smoother sounding in my books! Oh and the only thing that sucks Is there’s no Side Chain feature??

I’ve also just got the demo of PSP’s Vintage Warmer 2. I think everybody should try it out. I’m quite blown away with it’s sound. The way texture to the audio is really sexual. Really does brings your mix to life.

    Regards, Marcus.
