That’s not what I see on Windows. It doesn’t give me an option to customize the install in any way other than the location of the VST2 folder
Probably the difference you’re hearing is that of a mastered track, ie the preset running through a mastering chain along with all the other tracks. That won’t sound the same as simply loading the preset
Which doesn’t really work the way it should, in my opinion. It will give you more precision for about 5, maybe 10 numbers before it jumps off again almost like it only recognizes the shift key for a short time. Regardless, it’d be a nice feature to be able to manually type in a number for it. It’d also help to have an option to link the panning sliders so that a change on one affects the other. That way, if you just want to reduce the stereo spread, you’re not having to move one closer to zero then match the other on the opposite side
Really hoping SD4 is coming this year. Feels long over due. I’d love to see the grid features that currently exists in EZdrummer 3 incorporated into the superior line. Also, third party plugin availability in the mixer!!

3rd party plugins would be killer. I’d settle for just being able to use EZmix inside of the host, which I’m not sure why they haven’t done yet. What’d also be great is if we could get channel presets inside of the host. If you like the processing chain for your snare top mic, save it as such. Or if you like the parallel processing you did on a bus send, save it
Not a drummer, but I’d like to see an SDX companion to the Dirt EZX with Pelle Henricsson. The best drum sound, in my opinion, is the one on the album The Shape Of Punk To Come, which he worked on. I don’t know how the hell they got that drum sound, but it would be great to get a full expansion with the engineering that went into it. Maybe they could get the other two engineers, Eskil Lövström and Andreas Nilsson as well
I would love to get a library done by Pelle Henricsson who did the Dirt EZMix pack simply to get the same drum sound from Refused’s album The Shape Of Punk To Come. He could definitely do some older punk and hardcore drum sounds like Sex Pistols or Minor Threat. The Pop Punk EZX just doesn’t cut it for more raw forms of punk and hardcore and to say it does is naive at best
I mean, the least they could do is include the ability to use EZMix (you know… their own software) inside of the host
There are threads going back as far as March 2020 and there still isn’t a clear fix for this? I tried the command prompt solution, I tried updating Windows, I tried other solutions via google but the only thing that it could be is an issue with the Toontrack installer. It creates a temporary folder with the .msi file and then can’t even find it. I’ve tried finding the temporary folder and selecting it when it asks to find the file, I’ve tried copying the .msi file into other locations, nothing seems to work
Getting the same problem except with SD3. I see this problem has been a thing for over two years now
Bumping because I’m looking for the same answer. There’s a certain sample for a floor tom (I’m using the Pop Punk EZX inside of SD3 if it matters) that sounds way off as if the velocity is half of what is actually being triggered plus it sounds as if it has no attack, the high end frequencies are dampened, or possibly both. I’m running my DAW on a loop (so it’s the same note triggering it) and watching the MIDI monitor and when I hear it played I don’t see that the floor tom is triggering with a randomized velocity low enough to dictate such a sample so I’m not sure if it’s just an error or not. Either way, I’d like to be able to go in and just turn it off. I know Drumforge has the ability to turn off certain samples if you don’t like them, if that option could be added to SD3 it would be great
After today’s release of the update 3.3 of SD3, the new functions “display of the groove in the groove tab” from Ez Drummer 3 and of course VST 3 have been added.
Is it intended to make the new functions “Tap to Find Sequencer” and “Bandmate” available for SD3 in a further update? Or will these functions remain exclusive to Ez Drummer 3?

I hope so… I definitely don’t think it’d be worth buying EZD3 simply for those, but I watched a rundown video out of curiosity and being able to drag in a DI riff and have it make suggestions actually had me thinking “oh f***, that would be helpful”. I like to think I’m pretty good at writing my own drum grooves, but it’d be awesome to be able to do have it analyze my guitar DI to spur some creativity or show me something I hadn’t thought about. I might even be willing to pay a small upgrade price if needed just to add this feature to SD3
Rikk said it, if you own SD3 consider ezdrummer 3 as a new SD3 expansion, nothing more nothing less
If that’s the case, then they need to offer the upgrade discount to SD3 owners.
