BTW, something I stumbled on to. The most Santana-eque or Cal Tjader-eseque claves I’ve found in the various EZs and midi files were “Cha-Cha” based. Perhaps even more interesting, using the Cha-Cha intros for the main drums of the song worked great. There’s no law saying one can’t substitute an “Intro” for a “Verse”, or vice-versa. Currently making great progress on my newest song.
I did find some good Brazilian drums, in Toontrack format, from OddGrooves. The package didn’t have everything though. No Caprihana style, no Baiao. I guess I’ll have to wait for the Toontrack midi files for a comprehensive Brazilian release.
I believe I have all of them.
Kindly see my request for Brazilian “clave”.
Samba, Bossa, Baiao, etc etc.
I hate drum programming, and there are fantastic Brazilian percussionists and drummers out there, that can do a much better job than I.
My DAW is Logic Pro. I am able to see the notes from a midi file track, however I don’t see chord names, like CMaj7, Fmi9, E Add11 etc like I would see in the Real Book.
I certainly can analyze the notes and subsequently write the chord names on some staff paper, it seems rather primitive in this day and age, not to mention tedious.
EzKeys2 already has the chord names displayed at the bottom of the page. They’re not always completely visible depending on how many chord changes per measure there are. For instance I might only see the “C” of a C13b9b5 chord because there isn’t enough room. Obviously if I use the Edit Chord feature I will see the complete chord name. This is a pain however. The chord data already exists, it just has to be formatted like someone might see in the Real Book, on virtual staff paper. Example: Dmi7 CMaj7/GMaj7 Emi9/Ami9 Emi9
Guitar players are lazy this way.
I don’t see a way to perform that in Logic Pro without buying a 3d party app.
I see the notes just fine in Logic Pro, I’d rather not have to analyze each chord and write that on a piece of paper for guitar.
There really should be a way to print something like (Real Book-esque):
CMaj7 Dmi7/Ami7 Emi7/
EzKey2 should have this functionality.
Chord Blocks, not the Grid Editor, which has a tab at the top.
I was able to drag a “verse” and place it on top of the verse I wanted to replace, and it worked. I didn’t think it would because all the parts are in the Selected state.
Any idea why all the various choruses, verses, intros remain in the Selected state? I can’t unselect any part of the song in chord block mode. Kindly see attachment.
I don’t seem to have the permissions to edit chords within the 8 bar blocks.

Thank you John for that update. The EULA seems to be open to much interpretation.
However, I noticed I am not allowed to change chords, replace a verse etc after I have assembled the various song parts and saved that as a new midi file (song).
There seems to be some kind of copyright protection going on within EzKeys2 when I try to modify “my” song later on. If I modify a single chord, all the chords become that chord that I had entered. I can’t delete a verse and replace it with another verse from the same midi song (AOR midi pack). I have to believe this is very deliberate.
Obviously another midi editor would allow me to modify the file. Is that illegal somehow?
Not trying to be a wise guy, just trying to make a song, my song. I bought quite a few midi files from ToonTrack. I sure hope that wasn’t a mistake.
