Ok, so I have EZ working pretty well…..thanks for the great video series, and was able to remap the, and I got the model wrong, the Roland TM6 Pro. so we have our drums working pretty well at least in stereo. A limitation that  an issue but for the drummer . He wants grandular control in our IEM system for his drums.  Looks like a move to Superior.

I contacted Toontracks and asked them about the best way of upgrading….either selling EZ or paying for the cross grade….They only answered part of the question, yes I can see my EZ licence.

Also, drum packs. I’m not rich and can’t afford to buy packs that will not be used. Is there a way to try a drum pack before purchase? I know you can listen to them, but that’s not the same as trying them.

Superior includes more drums, so maybe, and the ability to import other samples…..

Advice on upgrading, or any other comments most appreciated.

Thanks a ton…..I’ve been looking to see if there is an upgrade path to SD….and just like when I purchased, there really is no deal on an upgrade…..I could do what I did before and wait till there was a deal on….but is it worth it? Mapping drums is such a basic feature, that I’m surprised it is not available in any package, even a stripped down version..

The sounds coming out of theTM3 – suck. Working on a full replacement of ALL those sounds and using ONLY EZ, or SD.

    1. No DAW
    2. will watch all your vids
    3. no separate midi for each drum, just separate audio for each drum…..makes sense.
    4. considering upgrade
    5.  The biggest issue in using this technology has nothing to do with the technology, but everything about how much time it takes if a drummer wants to have different sounding drums for every song on our repertoire. I pointed out to our drummer that I’ve done it, by moving to the Line 6 Helix, and taking literally 100’s of hours honing, fixing and repairing each song, and why should drummers be exempt….But it is a LOT of work.  The process starts.

Thank for the reply. I had already looked up the specs for the program. What I was looking for was a person with real experience using the package to comment on what they are using, latency, drop outs, ASIO, etc…Is a laptop adequate and if so which one? You know – real people who are using this.

I will be running from a computer directly into a mixer – either Yamaha TF1 or most likely the Behringer X32 Rack.  Has anybody out there tried this kind of configuration? It is a USB/ASIO configuration and of course latency is my biggest concern. If you add the cost of the program, a computer – then a fast 8 channel or better interface – this is getting real expensive to deploy. Still worth it if the drummer stops using his oversized 6 piece drum kit in a room where we are playing for 40 people. That’s what this is all about.

Most likely running only 6 channels at once. Maybe more eventually.

Anybody tried this with this software?
