8 GB will be more than enough for the core library presets if you only play along with your edrum set, it’s only when you want to record multitrack to a DAW that you need at least 16GB.

Nope, just adds the bell articulation

I received the new laptop, SD3 runs without problems, smooth as butter, touch screen mode is also great

Thanks, I haven’t installed it yet buz I’m sure I will next week when I get the new laptop which is a samsung with a 15″ touch screen, which raises another question: how usable is SD3 with a touch screen?

Oh and I’m using Cubase too and I see on the steinberg support page that it works on windows 11, that’s great.

There’s currently 3 articulations, center, off-center and edge on the snare controlled by CC16 and they work perfectly, as for the ride, you’ll have 2 bow articulations, bow shank and bow tip controlled by CC18 and they work excellent as well, now we just need support for the digital Hihat postional sensing data.

not every one here belongs to your “pro audio community”…..

That’s normal behavior, when used with a DAW, the audio/midi setup is controlled by this and not SD3

I expect some Mapex, Tama, DW and Meinl cymbals

You can remap the midi notes very easily using the learn option, why so much drama?

I made a video about this:

Well I’ve tried it but I don’t notice any difference to the “E-drum optimised” setting, the CC value still jumps when pressing/depressing the pedal without hitting the cymbal pad, resulting in opening articulations, specially 5 and 6 open edge, being triggered and ruining splash and closed pedal sounds….

Have you checked to see if your module is generating low level tip or edge articulations when triggering a footsplash? This is the only thing I can think would cause the behaviour you are describing

Not really, but when I play a simple pedal chick the open pedal and the closed edge get triggered, the open pedal triggers no matter how fast or slow I’m playing chicks as soon as the hihat pad is up.

Well it fixed it for me, using a VH-14D and a TD-50, I reduced it to 10% and I can get clean pedal closed notes

Well, it depends on the speed of stepping. No chance on fast stepping 😉

true but it’s not as distracting as before the update, specially when playing other drums, if you only play hihat only then you will hear it of course…

Oh I see, I will experiment more with this then, but so far great update for edrummers playing a moving hat
