Yamaha DTX500 false midi trigger issue

Hi all, I picked up a dtx500k kit a couple of days ago, hooked it up to Superior 2.0 through my RME Babyface midi. All seemed to work great until I realised it randomly triggers all pads, every couple of minutes on average. This is a real deal breaker if I can’t fix it. Any ideas guys?

All I can say is you’re not alone. 😉

I have the exact same problem and I sent mine in today to have it serviced. To the best of my knowledge there’s a problem with the DTX500 firmware but Yamaha keeps saying my unit is a lemon item. I’ve read about this problem from another source too over at drumchat:

I’d *highly* recommend you send it in so it becomes a known issue, hopefully causing Yamaha to acknowledge the problem and either give out refunds or update the modules or (unlikely) hand out DTX700 modules as replacements.

Nice forum you have here. So this is all about Midi controllers or just software or…?
