What is a good free host program

I am using PT LE 6.4. When I drag and drop the midi files it crashes. I don’t blame EZD because it says compatible with 7.3 and later. But…I might upgrade my PT and it could still possibly crash.

So…I thought I might find a free program to build my drumtracks in and then import to PT.

I also noticed where this might be a possibility for me…

This was contributed by John….you can insert Send(s) on the EZdrummer Track(s) routed to the Inputs of the number of Audio Tracks you wish to use.
Play the MIDI back through EZdrummer as you are Recording to the Audio Tracks.
Then you can Deactivate the Instrument Track with EZdrummer inserted.

EZplayer will NOT work for sure with PT 6.4 but you could use it, possibly, in Toontrack solo to build your tracks.

that said there is nothing wrong with your question but it’s not really the right section to discuss so I’m moving it where appropriate.

I wouldn’t recommend any host over the other, simply because I haven’t tried them all. Cost-wise, you might want to look into Reaper (http://www.reaper.fm/). It’s quite cheap and from what I know pretty good. Scott, one of our techs at the forum uses it a lot, so you will be in good hands should you run in to any trouble.
