Tuning Doubt

Hi. First post and maybe dumb question? Anyways let me try: when I select an instrument, eg the kick and then check the Instrument Panel I can see the assigned Key like C1. Besides the fact that the kick is assigned to the C1 key on the piano, does it also mean that the kick sample is Tuned in C?

I assume you are talking about Ezdrummer2 correct? No, the note number refers to the note that triggers the sample and not a pitch.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I’m using Superior Drummer. Please see the attached pic. The C1 in the pic means that the instrument (kick) is pitched as C? or just that the kick is triggered by the C1 piano key?

Ok. Thanks. So what is the best way to check the key a particular sound is tuned?
From outside the SD I could use, eg. in Ableton Live I can load a Spectrum and check the key of a wav file while playing it. But, does SD have a way to do that?

No, S2 doesn’t have a way to check which pitch a drum is tuned to. To tell you the truth, I grab my guitar to figure out the pitch overtones. Yes, old school…but it’s accurate and easy.
