Drums were tracked in a storage shed (our intended studio was destroyed in one of the many earthquakes we’ve had in Christchurch over the past 14 or so months).
Was not happy with the sound so I replaced the kick, snare & toms with Drumtracker & Superior (cymbals/overheads are live drums).
I now do this with most of my sessions (In my experiance I find drummers get their personallity from the cymbals), it would be cool to be able to route the ‘live overhead mics’ into the superior mixer for the room sounds.
All Gats are tele or strat or both > a few stomp boxes > Vox AC30 > SM57.
All Bass (p-bass mostly) > stomp boxes > sansamp bdi. Plus di’d dry for futuer reamping.
The bass is used for all the big organy sounds with the use of an EHX POG and a bunch of delays.
