The best snare drum : the choice

hi

i don’t want a dark tone like the seventies rock ezx

neither some others

i want natural  -raw snares but with EZD 2 (and not something like an echo hitting the snare)

i want something real, raw but not dark

-trad      country    ezx   :  it sounds natural but dark too  ONLY 2 TOMS

-indie folk  ez    :              dark too ?                 2 TOMS

progressive ezx   :          not   natural    but not dark

custom shop   ezx : it sounds natural but dark in the demos

reggae  :                   it does not sound bad but for rock ?

classic     ezx :        it  sounds natural but a little bit dark ?

or is there only EZD2 which does not sound dark ?

some opinions if you have these ezx expansions

Have you checked the Alt-Rock EZX?

From my point the snare and drums sound very natural and bright.

-yes, eq +compression made the Pop /rock ezx better than the original

-i have alt rock ezx: some snares are really good- real-raw

but there is a lack of something every time  vs SDD3 which sounds perfect but 235 gb !!!! +the price  : 235gb is not possible for me now

So, i wanted to go on with the EZX
even if when i  listen to native instruments studio drummer for example (amazing snares) it sounds better in the demos (real-raw)

Then, the best is to go and listen to the demos in the midi packs pages

the demos sound better than in the EZX pages

so, i have found the best snares  that i have not yet (and not with a dark mood )

there are

• Classic     ezx : tight snare, natural (i really don’t know if it sounds a little bit dark) and  there are  2 good videos in youtube
•  Progressive ezx  (the crunchy preset, the Pearl preset sound really  good here

– Americana ezx  : it sounds real (but less than superior drummer 3)
– Made of metal ezx : i don’t know because it sounds really different in the demos – official demos vs the other demos from youtubers

the official demo sounds better but only in Youtube not in the website!

my conclusion is that  i don’t buy these ones

trad      country    ezx   :  it sounds natural with some good snares but dark with the mood which was made to sound like an old recording

-indie folk  ez    :    the   LUDwig rock snare sounds good enough but not enough to buy it just for that

custom shop   ezx : it sounds natural but not bad and not amazing

reggae  :                 it sounds thin so, no

pop-punk does not sound raw enough for me but it’s good for  a specific sound (radio hits, metal, some pop -punk of course but not Green day dookie, what a pity !!! i wanted to have this sound )
