I’m sorry if this question or something similar has already been asked.
I would like to know if the Superior Drummer software will allow you to create your own beats from scratch. I would also like to know if it will allow you to structure these beats into a song within itself or if that is only possible by dragging the beats one by one into your studio software (I will be using the latest version of GarageBand for the record).
I’m looking for something similar to Acoustica Beatcraft but for Mac, and with the best quality drum sounds that Toontrack appear to offer (I’m especially interested in the DFH, as the music I write is generally metal). I’ve already researched the cheaper EZDrummer and found that it doesn’t have the option to create beats from scratch, and that option is absolutely paramount to me.
If the Superior Drummer software doesn’t have this option either, is there anything like Beatcraft that this company makes? Like I said, I’m very interested in using DFH for my projects, but unfortunately it can’t be used on its own.
You can Drag n Drop full midi files ( whole Kit being played ) or Loops as they are often referred to into your Daw (GB)
You can also pencil notes in or with a keyboard or E drum play them in for a more realistic feel,so from that point of view don’t dismiss EZDrummer for the reason you mentioned, because on that level they are identical.
Logic express would be better than GB for this and many other aspects.
In your Daw These plugins behave like any other Midi Instrument so when you record midi on their midi tracks they will playback that midi or midifiles that are pre-recorded.
I only make my own from scratch in Logic Pro and it is great fun with either EZ or SD2.
Both EZDrummer and SD2 have a built in groove player in which you can audition and /or playback their included loops.
