I’ve upgraded like I always do and it works FINE in the standalone version but not in my DAW win 10…I’ve completely uninstalled reinstalled , reinstallded again…installed from open in explorer, cleared vst cache in reaper…It doesn’t find my audio engine and it crashes if I try to play it…I’m Perplexed…lol
Thx, Jeff
You posted this in the EZKeys forum Jeff, may want to move it for better response, but have you opened up the Toontrack Product Manager – there were updates to EZBass posted yesterday.

Hi James,
Thx but this is for the EZBASS 1.0.6 update, and the heading is telling me it’s EZBASS help forum….. But I’m still havin my coffee so I’ll make sure soon 🙂
Oh unless you moved it for me… THX
Hey onewayout_1,
If the standalone application works, your issue is most likely that you previously copied the plugin from the install location to wherever you host looks for plugins. Instead of copying the plugin, try adding the EZbass install location in your DAW’s plugin locations instead, and it will automatically load the correct version after you run a plugin scan.
Before that though, you should remove the outdated plugin from wherever your DAW is looking. Do so by looking at “Help -> Show Plug-In Path” when loading EZbass in your DAW.
To find the install location, do the same in the standalone application. This is the location you want to add to your DAW to avoid future issues after updates.
Let me know how it goes,

Thanked by: onewayout_1I’m having the same exact problem in Reaper:Â EZ Bass standalone works fine, but using it as a plugin locks up Reaper for a couple of seconds and then it crashes.
I’ve gone into the Reaper VST settings, added two separate file paths per your suggestion…
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Toontrack\EZBass
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Toontrack\EZBass\EZB-EZBassModern\Sounds
…and rescanned the plugins. After that all I have to do is engage the recording mode on the EZ Bass track and touch one key on my MIDI keyboard for Reaper to lock up and crash.
I don’t know if this is related, but when I look in the EZ Bass Product Manager, it shows VST 64 bit, AAX 64 Bit, and Standalone at v. 1.07, but the Sound Library and Midi files are at 1.06.
How do we fix this? I can’t record anything with EZ Bass right now.
Thanks.
Here’s the screenshot for the version info. The forum entry above wouldn’t let me attach two photos.

Did you try the solution above? That fixed it for me…..
Yes I tried it, no it did not work for me.
Hi fjk1138,
the version numbers look OK but you have added the paths to the content files for EZbass in your screen shot above, not the path to where the VST .dll is located.
Your .dll file should be installed by Default to ‘C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Toontrack’ but please see this FAQ for details:
https://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-set-the-path-to-my-toontrack-plug-in-in-cubase/

Thank you John, that fixed it.
The above instructions (prior to your post) did not call out specifically looking for the .dll file. I suppose I should have known that, but since all software is different, this is the only Toontrack program I have, and there are basically 3 minimum places on my PC that VST’s get installed I never want to assume anything.
All is good now.
Thanks again!
