Sidestick and rimshot get in the way of each other

Hello all

I have installed EZ Drummer 3 on my Millenium MPS 1000 e-drum set. I’m more than super happy with the results except from one thing. One of my most favorite kits is the Big Chief under the Bright Room section. Somehow though when I play sidestick, if I apply slightly more power to the stick, I get a rimshot sound instead. To avoid this I have to apply minimum force to the stick which gets in the way of my playing style. Just to clarify, my drumstick doesn’t touch the mesh pad it is placed exclusively on the snare hoop. Any idea on how I can fix this?
