Roland TD-15KV Setup (SD2)

I am struggling with getting SD2 to trigger the incoming midi signal from my Roland EDrum kit. My current setup is a (MIDI->MIDI cable) from drum module ->Scarlett 6i6, then to Toontrack solo/SD2 in Cubase. My audio interface shows that there is midi data coming in from the drum module. I have selected edrum specific (Roland) under the mapping section and I still cant trigger the SD2 sounds when hitting the drum pads. Is there any insight as to why this might be? Is it better to use a MIDI/USB / USB->USB versus the MIDI->MIDI cable I am current using?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

You should not be running Toontack Solo and Cubase at the same time. Either load S2 in Solo or load it as a VST inatrument inside Cubase.

I only run 1 program at a time. I was just mentioning that I am unable to trigger any sounds in both of those programs. I might try a USB setup and see if I get a different outcome.

I did have the same problem before with my other config. Try to open Solo and SD2 first, then power on your module and other gear and then make sure the audio/midi option are right. It worked for me in that way. If my module was power on first, no triggering, even with relaunching.
