Roland HD-1 & S2.0 Questions

Will S2.0 offer me more possibilties with this kit or will I always be limited by the HD-1’s brain?  I am hoping that the software in the S2.0 will be able to help. The HD-1 has a midi out which is great – but there are no mapping/reassigning options.  I really hope I will be able to use the new software for example to switch the crash trigger for a china trigger – will this be possible?
 
Thanks for any insight – I am hoping that I will not need to get a new brain.  I love the HD-1 beacuse the kick drum is noisless.

what about the snare drum? – the hd-1 snare drum supports rim triggering, but the brain does not – will the software somehow control the brain?

No, I’ve just checked the HD-1  manual and there is only 1 note sent from the snare so you won’t get rim triggering
