Question about EZD 2 free upgrade

I remember reading that people who registered EZ Drummer 1 within a certain timeframe got the upgrade to EZ Drummer 2 for free. I’m wondering about those who recently bought EZ Drummer second hand and it was registered via license transfer. Does the free upgrade apply to them too? I’m asking because this is how I got EZ Drummer last week.
