Projects vs Presets

Can someone explain the difference between using “projects” (under File on the left hand side of EZD3) and using “presets” on the right hand side under kits as a setting for a recording?

I am using the project setting to access a kit that I have made to record with, but I don’t really understand why it isn’t in the presets menu.  Why are there two different settings for this?  Does the project save the mixer settings and the preset doesn’t?

A project is going to save every little detail in all of the tabs and song track… everything. An entire song’s midi and sounds, for example.

A Library Preset saves Drum and Mixer Tab setting. You’re favorite overall sound to recall.

A User Drum Kit saves only the Drums Tab settings for a specific Library. Your favorite kit to recall.
