Hi guys I stuck this up on the v-drums forum but didn’t have any luck getting answers. Anyone here up to the challenge?
I’ve been using my TD-12 with superior 2 and have a few questions about the workings of the VH-11 that hopefully some of you can help me with. I’ve been closing the clutch screw so that with my foot down I get a CC value of 127 and when the pedal’s open I’m getting about 20.
1) How is a foot chick generated? Is it CC data that generates the midi note and if so, how?
2)I always thought that the hi hat only generated 2 notes, one for the edge and one for the bow and that the pedal position defined how open or closed the note should be, but I noticed that with my foot right down, 2 different notes are generated for closed bow and edge. If i limit the CC value to say 110 then only the 2 different notes are generated but I still achieve closed sounds using the S2 curves and still get a foot chick. I guess what I’m asking is which is the best method to use with S2, should I be sending 2 or 4 hi hat notes or does it not really make any difference.
Cheers
