Midi not working

I just thought I would have a go with solo as for a quick drum practice it is much quicker to load than Cubase4. I can get the sounds to play from the pads on superia but no matter what I do I can not get
the edrums(or a keyboard) to play the sounds. I am using a Yamaha n12 mixer and the midi input is called mlan midi in. I have been in cubase and checked this is the correct input and it is and works fine in cubase.
 
Any ideas?

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Found out the driver doesn’t work in anything but cubase so not a solo problem
