Which audio interface are you using?

Are you running any other plugins at the same time?

Im using Line 6 KB37, but I haven’t had any issues with other plugins such as EZKeys or EZdrummer in standalone.

Most DAW allow you to adjust the buffer size which can effect latency. I don’t see anyway to do that in GB. (pretty limiting by I guess Apple wants you to upgrade to Logic).

You could check to see if there are any options in the KB37 for adjusting buffer size at the hardware level.

I’m not experiencing it in GB, but honestly I only ever run it if someone posts a problem here.

Sorry I don’t have more insight with it.

Line 6 have software to change the buffer size outside your DAW and I’ve tried that, the issue seems to be some issue with the graphics.

Hopefully someone from Toontrack can help me out.

    Thank you anyways.

    Hi ArmTal,

unfortunately there does not seem to be any way to adjust buffer size in GarageBand. I’m on the currently latest version of GB and Mojave.

When I use Tap2Find and click the drums in the interface, the latency is really bad. It seems to be slightly better if I use the on-screen keyboard or Musical Typing.

There does not seem to be any way to keep the EZdrummer plugin interface open if you select another, e.g. an Audio Track, to try to see if the latency gets lower.

Also check the Master Track if there are any plugins active that could induce more latency.

    BR,
    John

I have tried to change the buffer size through line 6 own software and have also removed every plugin at the mastertrack, but it is still the same.

Yes tap to find works better when I am using my midi-keyboard, but when im shown the best suitable options of grooves, I still have to work on ezdrummer tonfind the right groove.

the massive lag is still present so i dont think it is just a matter of buffer size and latency?

Anyone else having these issues on garageband? Fix?

I’m having the same issue. When the EZDrummer 2 plug-in is opened in Garageband the graphics / response have serious lag. The sound seems to play fine but all the graphics move very slow. Even the standalone version’s graphics seems to lag but not quite as bad as the plug-in.

Has there been a fix for this yet?

    Hi,

the same AU plugin is used by Logic, difference is that there you have ways to affect the buffering, etc.

Also, when using Musical Typing when you Tap2Find seems to reduce it further.

When you are experiencing slow response in the Standalone, is it only the graphics or is it sound as well?

What are your Audio Settings in the Standalone?

Thanks for responding. When running EZD2 standalone or the plugin version the sound plays fine. It’s just the graphics that are lagging. These are the settings that show in the standalone version. I have tried changing the buffer size both up and down but it still acts the same.

Have you tried running in low-res mode and lowering your buffer to 64?

You can always try Olof’s advice over here:
    https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/slow-graphical-response/?view=all#post-2491773

Also, I discovered that if I first hit Rec in GB with the EZdrummer 2 Track selected (don’t need to record anything), after I hit Stop, the latency seems better.
