    Hi,

if you have both EZkeys 2 and EZbass windows open at the same time and they are slightly overlapping, you can drag MID from the EZkeys 2 Song Track to both the EZbass Song Track (which will then ask you if you wish to Import Tempo and Time Signature) and the ‘Drums & Keys’ page.

You can also drag from EZkeys 2 or EZbass to EZdrummer 3 in the same manner. All of them can Import Tempo from MIDI files and EZbass can also read Chords from an EZkeys 2 Project.

    Hi

Came back again to the Toontrack trio (bass, drums and keys) after some years

Now, I play my axe and I want to use the Toontrack trio to do backing tracks, but I see the same defect is still there

For example, I set a progression in Ezkeys, with a series of chords AND WITH intro, verses, chorus etc.

Then I want to have the same chords BUT ALSO THE SAME intro, verses, chorus etc. in EZbass, but it is still impossible because only chords are passed

This issue applies also when I start with EZdrums and I want THE SAME intro, verses, chorus etc. in EZkeys and/or EZbass

This is very silly to me, to have 3 instruments that cannot do the same things in the same moments, unless I waste a lot of time re-creating intro, verses, chorus etc. in each single plugin

I am quite sure I asked for this feature in the past, but nothing happened

I have to agree 100% with what Claudio has written here. I would have thought this feature is a must for future upgrades. To be able to make adjustments to an EZkeys song structure and have EZbass and EZdrummer follow those changes, would make the songwriting and arrangement process so much quicker and keep you ‘in the flow’. Please let me know if there is actually a way of doing this already that I have missed, but if it’s not possible now, it really should be in the future. Captain Plugins by Mixed in Key kind of already do this, but their song structure has song sections on separate tabs and I genuinely prefer the song structure tools in EZkeys.

I agree Toontrack does need to work on better integration of all their products together when they’re being used together in a DAW project.  It’s not a show stopper for me since I use a wide range of different instrument plugins from other companies so I’m used to coordinating them within a given project.

My approach is to start building the project with one instrument.  Typically that’s EZKeys but it can sometimes be Superior drummer.  In either case I lay out the entire song and code the individual sections as intro, verse, chorus, etc. within a project where I’ve designated the same BPM for the song project in my DAW (Ableton).  Once that’s done I’ll go back to my DAW and align the project time markers with the sections in my EZKeys or SD.  By having my DAW aligned on both BPM and markers in my DAW.  That makes it easier to align my work in the DAW with the section I’m dealing with in my plugin regardless of whether it’s a Toontrack plugin or another companies plugins.
