Has anyone had experience importing multi-sampled drums into SD3? Using the velocity settings with x-pads could probably do it. I have recorded my own kick drum and now wonder if it could be added to my favorite Drum Software. Is it even possible?

Well,
you can do pretty much but it requires some patience and it will of course not behave the same as a Toontrack Instrument.
If you have e.g. a Snare sampled at 5 different velocities and also through 1 mono (direct) and 2 stereo mics (oh+amb), you can take these 15 files and stack them on the Snare position. Then set the Velocity Gate Property Box for each stack sample, for the range each sample will be heard, adjust curves and levels, etc. Finally, you right-click to enter Route Instrument microphones and either send the mono and stereo samples to existing microphone channels or create new ones.
Save your Project when done.
