I have a project in Ableton with EZdrummer on it, plays just fine.

I need to FREEZE the track so I can see the waveform.

Nothing freezes, it acts like the plugin is just disabled.

Rendering complete projects or tracks to files is fine.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Latest version of both.

Do you have MIDI in the drum track of the EZDrummer plugin, or in Ableton as a MIDI track? If it’s in EZD, try to drag it into the Ableton MIDI track and see if that solves the problem. If you want keep the MIDI in EZD, try creating a MIDI file on the Ableton track with a MIDI note that doesn’t trigger anything or has a really low velocity. See if that triggers Ableton to create an audio track.

    Hi,

Brad’s right on the money; if nothing is on the Ableton Live track, Live sees it as an empty track and not render anything.
Having your MIDI start on Bar 2 on the EZD3 Song Track and adding a e.g. rim click on Bar 1 will render a Bounce in Place with a Waveform. Freezing the track will not render a Waveform, whether the MIDI is on the Live track or on the EZD3 Song Track. The former will simply show the MIDI notes and the latter will look empty but play back audio.

    John

    Can you give us screenshots?

What is in the menu when right clicking on the EZD track?
