Has anyone gotten good results with FD-8 hi hat and pedal correction? The issue being that the window from close to open is very small, so there’s not much time for the half open samples to get played during pedal transition. I played with the pedal correction presets and tried some of my own curves, but never really got good results. I had a TD-4. I also looked at some of the FD-8 Mods , but not sure I want to go that route. Maybe just need to get a better pedal. What pedals work with TD-4 that have better close to open transition for CC4 data?
the FD-7 is infinitely better than the FD-8 (and as far as I know still readily available).
That said there are ways to get a decent response using a custom curve in Superior. Start with the ‘more open 1 or 2′, then tweak the HatsCtrl velocity curve after visualizing the CC data in your sequencer… sadly the FD-8 vary from unit to unit so it’ unlikely one of the factory curve will be completely optimal for you.

Thanks for the feed back Rogue. I did find a few used FD-7’s on Ebay, but will try more tweaking to the pedal correction before buying one. I did try all the presets and didn’t really notice any difference. I did notice the curve visually change in the mapping though.. also tried my own curves.
