Greetings fellow EZD3 and SD3 users. I have an idea for a Sound Expansion and MIDI Grooves. And that would be Anika Nilles’ current Tama Kit she’s using on the RUSH 50 Something Tour. I think it’s a much needed expansion for Toontrack, because they seem to favor releasing multiple “Metal Drum Kits” versus “Hard Rock Kits” and this could be the opportunity to expand on that. In addition, Toontrack has never released any MIDI Packs which offer patterns in the drumming style of Neil Peart. And yes, I’m aware that the competition has released an audio version (w/audio loops) of one of Neil’s kits and another company has released RUSH MIDI Grooves based upon specific songs. But here’s where my idea goes into some notably different territory.
Anika Nilles is a unique and highly skilled drummer in her own right, long before drumming in RUSH. She’s a master of both “Fusion and Rock” and now RUSH. Anika and TAMA have put together a brilliant selection of drums for her RUSH kit. And the rest of her kit is filled out with a unique selection of cymbals and audio samples. With all of that being the case, I believe that her drum kit and grooves would be an excellent addition to Toontrack’s current expansions. I would like to see the following details offered in such an expansion:
Anika Nilles “ROCK, RHYTHMS, & FUSION”
MAIN KIT: Anika’s current TAMA drum set as used in RUSH.
SECOND KIT: Anika’s own “Fusion” drum set as used on her own recordings and compositions.
ADDITIONAL KITS: A selection of additional drum sets as Toontrack/Anika determine.
MAIN MIDI GROOVES 1: A selection of grooves/patterns which capture the style of Neil Peart, specific RUSH songs.
MAIN MIDI GROOVES 2: A selection of grooves/patterns which capture the style of Anika Nilles “Fusion/Rock/Rhythms”
If anyone else thinks this might be a welcome addition to Toontrack’s products, please say so. Bring your ideas to the table, let’s talk about this.
