Wow ! it was a pre-order ok :)but some presets sound so good !
The snares sound real-raw more than EZD2 could do
it seems the best is for pop and rock : it sounds like a real drummer in a studio
but, I am very curious to listen to the presets to see if they are up to ezd2 especially the disco pop preset, the big 80’s sound etc.
we can keep EZD2 so cool
but I think some EZX are useless now

In Superior Drummer 3 I can load all EZdrummer EZX and disable the added FX. So you hear how the pure drum samples sound. Unfortunately they are mostly not as pure (or less wet) as I hoped they were.
I wish that there was an EZX that only uses slightly pre-produced samples, for playing out multiple channels to the DAW and doing all sound design and mixing there. SD3 has of cause all of this and so much more built-in. But for me it is perhaps already a bit too much, as I am not a professional. With EZD3, you can practically have the best of both worlds if you had the right clean and raw EZX (virtually a SDX light). I would also be willing to pay a little more for such an EZX.
Very good ! I have not SD3 but I think EZD3 will be enough for me with all I can do just with one EZX-EZD2
there are some EZX which sound really natural (raw),

I just wonder if it is so that all (old) EZdrummer expansions will be working in EZdrummer 3..?

Yes there are. For example the Traditional Country EZX is one that comes close to my taste.
Would be nice to have a short trail period when one purchased a promising EZX. Just one hour for trying out would be enaugh. I purchased a couple of extensions that seemed to be the right thing, and in the end I just use a hand full of grooves out of it. The preset demos are good, but they don’t always convey whether they meet your own requirements.
the sounds demonstrated here do not always represent the reality of the sounds we will have in our DAW
In general, the sound is much better in my DAW
Then, we can be disappointed because some EZX sounds are dark and will always be when others will have more treble and clarity (a more modern sound)
You have to know this before buying, but it requires a lot of experience, practice and listening to understand what Toontrack wanted to do.

Yes, that’s right. Basically, I am quite satisfied with most of my EZX. I usually use very few instruments in my recordings, mostly acoustic guitar, bass, vocals and drums. Some EZXs are a bit too hot or compressed for that.
With Superior Drummer 3 you can adjust everything imaginable so that it fits perfectly into the mix. But it is quite complex and demanding. I still have a lot to learn.
I pre-ordered the upgrade to EZD3 today. Looking forward to May 3rd.
sd3: yeah i guess it’s perfect but not sure because they are the sdx for more
and it would take me too long with all the settings or in fact, buying sd3 was the best to buy but first
now I have a lot of EZX expansions so I must make a lot of songs with them +EZD3-2 so it will take many years lol
and I am sure a new EZX will come in some months

Does ez drummer 3 do odd meters?
It will do whatever you will program it to do. 😉

I’m asking because easy drummer 2 did not. Have they added odd meter capability to the latest version?
Pre-ordered as soon as I saw the announcement. Looking forward to giving the new version a try.
The duration was very long for this new version
I hope the sounds will be up to par
with various varied presets
the other had disco pop, the big sound of the 80’s, blues etc.
