Wow ! it was a pre-order ok :)but some presets sound so good !
The snares sound real-raw more than EZD2 could do
it seems the best is for pop and rock : it sounds like a real drummer in a studio
but, I am very curious to listen to the presets to see if they are up to ezd2 especially the disco pop preset, the big 80’s sound etc.
we can keep EZD2 so cool
but I think some EZX are useless now

Hi,
EZdrummer 3 comes with a new Library, it’s not an option/add-on.
BR,
John
Thanks for your reply, John. And the library includes what, exactly? The seven kits described on the product page? If so, it would be helpful to say this on the product page, or at least to clarify this point.
Hi,
the product page says:
WHAT’S NEW? EVERYTHING.
In EZdrummer 3, everything from sounds and grooves to software features and overall experience are new, improved and more powerful.
BR,
John

Hi,
the product page says:
WHAT’S NEW? EVERYTHING.
In EZdrummer 3, everything from sounds and grooves to software features and overall experience are new, improved and more powerful.THE NEW SOUND LIBRARY.
An all-new recording featuring seven (7) drum kits and extras captured by Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer/mixer Michael Ilbert (Coldplay, Adele, The Weeknd) at the world-famous Hansa Studios in Berlin.THREE ROOMS. Three different ambiences. Maximum versatility.NEW PERCUSSION. The songwriting staples, recorded to perfection.
MAIN ROOM. Spacious but not overpowering, perfect for anything from singer-songwriter to modern pop. In this room, two kits were recorded.
BRIGHT ROOM. Reflective marble walls contrasted by hardwood flooring gives this room the perfect ambience for anything from classic to modern rock drums. In this room, two kits were recorded.
TIGHT ROOM. Dry, tight and transparent. The three kits that were recorded in this room are perfect for anything from heavy and punchy down to muffled and contemporary.
Is it something besides this you wish to find the answer to?BR,
John
Thanks for your reply, but:
What is “New” may require additional purchases, or it may not. Some people are ASSUMING that the new sound Library with seven kits is included, but you didn’t say that, nor did the web page say that. You wrote “a new Library.” The web page just says what is “New,” not what is included.
So is “a new Library” the same as “the NEW SOUND LIBRARY with seven kits?” Or is it something else?
Well, maybe it’s because English isn’t my native tongue but I don’t see how this can be misinterpreted:

Thanked by: DaveClarkIf EZD 3 follows a similar drum kit format as EZD 2, I suspect you’ll get a Modern kit and a Vintage kit for each of the 3 Rooms plus the Percussion kit. Correct me if I’m terribly wrong.
I stand corrected. Two kits for each of Main and Bright Rooms, and 3 kits for the Tight Room. Not sure if the Percussion is going to be a separate kit. Also uncertain if the kit pieces are going to be different from EXD2.
I assume that with a requirement of 18G of free space that the samples are not going to be huge.
@John are the kits in the new library different from the ones in the Rooms of Hansa SDX? Also wondering which room wasn’t used in this library. My guess by the description sounds like Meistershaal wasn’t used
No matter anyways, I’m still upgrading my EZD

The kits shown in the screenshots aren’t present in the SDX so they’re new. I know I’m going to be wanting a Hansa 2 SDX after hearing the new stuff – the original really is the Swiss Army knife of drum libraries.
@John are the kits in the new library different from the ones in the Rooms of Hansa SDX?
Q: The EZdrummer 3 core library is recorded at Hansa Studios by Michael Ilbert, same as The Rooms of Hansa SDX for Superior Drummer 3. Are the drums the same? Is it the same recording?
A: No, the EZdrummer 3 library is an all-new recording featuring its unique kits, tailored to cover as much width as possible from a songwriting perspective. The Rooms of Hansa SDX focused on capturing a very specific selection of rare boutique drums.

I would suspect the same thing since they mention 7 kits amongst three of the four rooms. If it is also the foreshadowing of another Hansa SDX, I’m definitely going to need a larger RAID. The original Hansa SDX is becoming one of my go-to SDX’s.

An all-new recording featuring seven (7) drum kitsToontrack has never sold just a sample player “engine” without any sounds. Library expansions are sold just like that, expansions.
So to conclude, you are missing the wording “is included” on the product page, if I understand you correctly?BR,
John
Yes, “is included” or something like that is necessary to prevent misinterpretation. As it is now written, the offer for an upgrade could be interpreted as no library, a library with one or two drum kits, or a library with all seven “new” kits included. All that is said is that the library is “new” in some way.
The fact that no engine has been released without a library is not something that is known by every potential customer, nor is that guaranteed to be the case in the future, so that fact is not helpful, only suggestive.
In the US, we have sales people that say all sorts of misleading things to get customers to buy things. After purchase there can easily be disagreements about what was supposed to happen. So some sellers specifically list what is included in a product in a list to prevent misunderstandings. “Included in the upgrade are 1) New engine; 2) Seven new drum kits described above; 3) New mixer; 4) New environments; 5) ….” Here in the US, on television, we have ads for cars that are the luxury package, but if you don’t see the small print, you can be misled. Many times we see “Starting at ….” with some nice, low price. This means that to buy what you really want, it will cost more. Hewlett-Packard was famous for selling oscilloscopes and a lot of other lab equipment without power cords, which was very unusual for expensive equipment. Oh, you want a power cord? That will be an extra $50. (1980 USD, $172 USD in 2022!)
OK, I have forwarded this, thanks for your input.

John
