Hi, I use Mixcraft 8, EZD2 and Focusrite 2i2. When I open EZD in Mixcraft, EZD shows ”audio engine inactive, check you audio device” in the bottum right corner. Thanks

Hi there,
EZ Drummer new Vers. 2.2.0 runs properly with Cubase 9 and Cubase 10.5 here!
I don´t konw why it takes so long, but now everything is fine again.
Hope you guys will fix such an ugly bug faster in the future, but today I say: thanks.
Henning
Yes , it took a while and a little help from my friends , but it seems to be doing what it should do . Fingers crossed .
Renoise also works fine with the 2.2.0 version. It’s no longer needed to run plugins in sandbox as a workaround.
can we wait for an update to fix the problem ?

Hi
Solved
This is more or less solved except for a problem of latency-sound-image synchronization with the drums I had before the last update
but, what must be done to avoid garageband-midi pad controller lockups
is to revert – to come back to last 2.1.8 version by a line code given by Toontrack
And don’t take the latest version with Mac OS Big Sur (for me, it blocked, garage band crashed and froze (wheel spinning endlessly))

Sorry to say but I’m having the same problem with EZDrummer 2.2.0 freezing while playing a project on Logic Pro X:
“Audio engine inactive, check your audio device.”
I get the spinning wheel and have to force quit Logic.
thanks for the update ! best staff ever
1)latency image-sound = perfect
2) problem solved about audio engine inactive

Hi everyone. Cubase 11 and latest 2.2.1 ezdrummer2 and i have this damn audio engine inactive” message in cubase. In standalone no issue but i need it in cubase. Help. Please! Tell me there is a damn solution
Had this problem this week w/ Logic. Went back to 2.1.8. Problem fixed!
Found out how to fix it myself as no help ever came from toontrack.
Sorry for the translation from french, but go in windows config /sound on sound property of your audio device in windows and untick a box called “authorize app to take exclusive control of this device”
I have the same issue. Although I am using reaper. A new update for windows, and now all of the sudden everything I try to do in ez drummer gives me this error message. I have tried uninstalling the drivers for my focus right saffire interface and nothing. This worked just yesterday and was working fine. Windows decided its time to update. Now it no longer works. Any assistance would be grateful.
This issue just popped up for me as well on the MAC version. I’m also not using a DAW, I just send it directly through my UMC 1820 interface and I then I could go in the audio/midi settings drop down and separate everything to different outputs and now all of a sudden I have no control of outputs, just the infamous “audio engine inactive” message and only stereo output options in the audio/midi settings.
I’m pretty much a newbie but I will take a shot at this. Hopefully I won’t waste anyone’s time.
Try going to your MIDI settings, select your device, and either re-scan your MIDI controller, or check to make sure the boxes for your MIDI device are checked. Don’t hit apply – which I find jams things up. Just hit okay. I’ve also turned my MIDI controller (I’m using a Roland A-500pro) on and off and then gone back into settings and followed the latter steps. I’ve been able to correct that problem that way.
I’m using EZDrummer and Keys as a Standalone and running the tracks into a Tascam Neo as if it is an instrument. I don’t anticipate any big problems doing so, as I can edit out small sections of the beginning of the drum track to make it sync up right. I’m just doing demos, so I don’t need absolute perfection. I done this before w a Boss DR-3 drum machine and not had problems w synchronization.

I`m also having the same issue ” audio engine inactive ,check audio device” popping up when I click on a loop in the EZdrummer instrument track loaded on the Cubase 11 Pro project page or anywhere on the project itself. No audio drop outs or performance noticed yet.
