Hi, I use Mixcraft 8,  EZD2 and Focusrite 2i2. When I open EZD in Mixcraft, EZD shows ”audio engine inactive, check you audio device” in the bottum right corner. Thanks

I can’t believe this issue hasn’t been solved yet.  This thread is a year and a half old (I joined the thread in June 2019) and the issue obviously effects many users.  That’s simply not good enough.  Time for Toontack to step up and either fix the problem or offer reasonable alternatives (e.g. heavily discounted crossgrade to S3).

This might have been mentioned before, but I had the same problem and it was because I had another track soloed.  It appears that it not only mutes the track but also disables the audio engine, which is likely done to save CPU resources.  I’m on Mixcraft 9 Pro, btw.

Still have this issue for at least 2 years . Before that it worked solid . Don’t know what happened , haven’t been able to solve it with or without a little help from my friends . I will avoid Toontrack products in the future , that’s for sure . Customer service got me nowhere .

  just sent a tech support request yet again for this issue,  and now getting alerts from this thread in my inbox again. it’s like they’ve gone, “meh, whatever,  send him to the forums, we got better things to do…”     hence, why I’ve not dropped coinage on EZBass!

I don’t think they’ll ever get round to fixing the issue.  it’s definitely related to the 2.1.8 release,  as if I roll back,  all is fine.

Also had  Jan from Steinberg tech remote session in twice over the past year, and it’s nothing to do with my DAW.

It’s niggles like this, that have put me off   ToonTrack.   I would stop using EZD2 and EZKeys if they sounded bad, but they don’t..   hhmpf!

Can you give more info then? Are you running standalone? In a DAW? If so, which one? What version of that DAW? What is your OS?

I can confirm that in the entire history of me ever using _any_  plugin or piece of software, Toontrack is the _only_ company to ever have _actually_ listened to customer complaints,  recognised the problem and released a fix…  only took a year!

Cubase + EZDrummer2  (2.20 update) is now working correctly.

Now I can purchase EZBass.

Yep , did the update , now the stand alone version , which was fine , gives me this audio engine crap , same in my DAW . Thanks for nothing , TT . Phoned a tech guy I know , he’s coming ’round to see if he can fix this lot .

I just updated to 2.2.0, using Mixcraft 9 pro (both 64-bit on Windows 10).

All still works.
