Since the update to Big Sur EZDrummer 2 makes my Logic X-projects crash. Don’t know what happened here, but when I remove the component-file, the crashing stops.

Yeah thats right.
I managaed to work around this a little.
I unplugged my keyboard, and now only use EzD without tap2find with the keyboard. only with the mouse, or I just search and listens to all the grooves in the library. It takes a little longer but Logic dosnt crash.
So my solution for now, if it is not working with the 2.1.8 for you, as it did not for me, is to just fuck the midi keyboard and use ezd with the mouse or just search and preview in the libraries.
Logic+Gband = problems
coming back to the 2.1.8 version is a solution before the next update

Glad a solution was found, I was also helped by Toontrack. Hope this will make the difference. Thanks everyone for contributing.

Hope we get a new version soon and that the updater works ok this time…
I’m running 2.1.8 which I had to manually install from my previous harddrive because the installer wasn’t offering vst and au options now, weirdly.
yes !

Hi, I have just upgraded to Big Sur. EZ Drummer 2 is w0rking for me, but I did post a similar question before upgrading to Big Sur, and a kind forum member said that EZD2 will work with Big Sur, but only 2.1.8. I have a download waiting for version 2.2.0 but I am not downloading that. I’m not sure if you can regress back to 2.1.8, but that might help the problem if you can. Probably best to get a definitive answer from Toontrack if possible though

it’s possible to come back to the last version (2.1.8)
and the problem was solved

Hi! I had the same problem as user Timbo87 and found a solution. Pasting commands into terminal gave nothing, version 2.2.0 was still installed. What worked for me was replacing the existing component in the library (EZdrummer.component) into version 2.1.8 , which I copied from my old macbook and EzDrummer works fine now.
