Since the update to Big Sur EZDrummer 2 makes my Logic X-projects crash. Don’t know what happened here, but when I remove the component-file, the crashing stops.
I’m not sure if this is about Big Sur, or the latest version of EZDrummer 2. I have problems since updating EZDrummer last week (and I’m still on Mojave)
They asked me to kindly send the crash-report. I’m sure they’ll resolve the problem the next update.
Hi
Solved I have big sur and same problems
This is more or less solved except for a problem of latency-sound-image synchronization with the drums I had before the last update
but, what must be done to avoid garageband-midi pad controller lockups
is to revert – to come back to the last 2.1.8 version by a line code given by Toontrack
they must be written in Terminal
And don’t take the latest version with Mac OS Big Sur (for me, it blocked, garageband crashed and froze (wheel spinning endlessly))
another method is to use twice the space bar
but for me the old version is better

What is this/where do you get it?
The Toontrack support gave me some lines to write into the Terminal
you can told them but they told me to do this
“Please open Terminal (in Applications > Utilities) and paste the following command there:
sudo — bash -c ‘pkgutil –forget com.toontrack.ezdrummer.aax.pkg; pkgutil –forget com.toontrack.ezdrummer.vst.pkg; pkgutil –forget com.toontrack.ezdrummer.au.pkg; pkgutil –forget com.toontrack.ezdrummer.app.pkg’
Then press Return.
It will prompt you for a password, so type your computer/admin password (which will be invisible) and press Return again.
Then download the version 2.1.8 software UPDATE – there’s no need to download the full installer – and select Install from the menu to the right of the download button for 2.1.8. It is important you click the menu to the right of the download and select “Install” once the download completes.”
because it’s not possible to come back to the previous version with the Toontrack product manager

Thanked by: roberthanline and tn_robertsonHi, it took me some time to find out, that ezdrummer was the bad boy on my system with Logic Pro. Almost every project stopped working after a while and I had to narrow it down…
I was on Mojave with Logic 10.5.1
Then I updated Logic to 10.6.1
Then I updated Mojave to Catalina
Still no success…
Finaly I examined a song and all the plugins used and found the bad boy…
So I went back to ezdrummer.component 2.1.8
For me the correct title would be: “EzDrummer 2.2.0 makes Logic Pro X crash” no matter what system on a mac…
Took me 6 hours to do so…
Many guys had this problem with the last update ! but I remember it was the same with another update some years ago
so come back to the 2.1.8 to play drums or midi drums like before :)(especially with pad- electronic drums)

Hopefully they’ll make a nice clean (well tested) update that fixes these issues.
Hey man, stupid question, but how the hell do I install the 2.1.8 if i already have the 2.2.0?
I tried to enter the command you provided, and then downloaded the 2.1.8 as you described but i still says in EzD that I run it on 2.2.0.
I also have macOS Big Sur. Starting to regret downloading it…
I couldn‘t find it myself but luckily I had a Backup from 2.1.8 (sorry for not helping)
I changed only the component… that alone works

I followed what they told me
= lines in the terminal
+ download the 2.1.8 version with Toontrack product manager
but not with the full installer so just in the right corner
maybe restart the computer + daw and that’s all
so in the product manager there will always be one update (the one we don’t want )
