Hi!
I’m new to EZ2 and try to figure out what it can do for me. I studied both the keymap PDF and the details/articulations GUI. For me they don’t match completely.
C3 (60) is called the PDF “open max”, but in the GUI “open 4”. Which makes sense as the GUI has also a “open 5” at F-1 (17). Is this just a “misprint” in the PDF? I’ve also purchased EZX packages which unlike “modern” and “vintage” have no “open 5”.
Besides that I have two more questions.
F3 (65) is called “Seq Hits”. What does that mean? Is it meant as a “replacement” for “tighte edge” or “tight tip”?
And finally, do have the articluations starting with “hats” like “hatsTrig” any use without an actual e-drum?
Any answers are appreciated,
Masi
Hi,
whether the PDF needs updating or not, I can’t answer to but there’s nothing wrong with your installation. A lot of the EZX:s differ in terms of available articulations, yet they need all to be compatible with all Toontrack MIDI as much as possible.
Seq hits are samples pulled out of a sequence of hits played by a drummer when the library was sampled. Sometimes adding such a hit in a sequence of hits makes for a more desired result than hitting the same articulation.
hatsTrig articulations are mainly for E-drum use when the openness of the hit is controlled by a pedal (or mod wheel) and the hatsTrig, hatsTipTrig, etc. merely states which area of the hi-hat is being hit.
