Hi,
I have the task of editing/remixing age-old Cubase 6.5 sessions that contain quite a few EZDrummer 2 tracks. The MIDI-Data is all there, but unfortunately due to the fact that I only have EZDrummer 3 available in my DAW when I simply try replace the MIDI-Instrument in the tracks the results are nowhere near the original mixes. I have done some research by looking into the Cubase CPR-file with a text editor: some EZDrummer 2 settings are available in clear text and I tried to replicate those in EZDrummer 3 but the result is still too far off. Some percussion elements are assigned wrong, some samples seem to be missing completely, and so on…
I have watched tutorials that explain how to export EZDrummer 2 presets and re-import them in EZDrummer 3, but I have only access to my registered copy of EZDrummer 3 so I do not have the option to export the settings at all. Is there any other way to carry over all the EZDrummer 2 settings to EZDrummer 3 without having to buy EZDrummer 2? Is there maybe some sort of legacy download for EZDrummer 3 users to be able to use EZDrummer 2 simply for conversion tasks? Or is there a third party product that can help? Any other tricks I might try?
thanks in advance for your help,
best regars,
Tony
PS: I have all the necessary expansion kits in EZDrummer 3, so that should not be the problem in my opinion
You could purchase the EZD2 sound library of you need the EZD2 sounds. It’s available as an EZX here.

i’m thinking the OP needs the drum presets used in EZD2 as the kits may be customized which is why in EZD3 it sounds significantly different. having EZD2 app would enable him to extract those settings out of the cubasis projects and perhaps readily recreated in EZD3. i guess if there was a trialware or demo version of EZD2 available, this might be a means of extracting the settings.
