DIY trigger for standard kick pedal

Hi,
does anyone know of any design plans for a piezo kick pedal ‘target’ that attaches to/stands behind a standard kick pedal? I’ve seen a few designs for something to fit to an acoustic bass drum, but nothing DIY for just a standard kick pedal without the drum.

I’m currently using a KicKAT kick trigger, which is basically what I want in that attaches to a standard kick pedal and is struck by the beater, but I don’t like the feel of it and its really noisy too – the trigger surface is rock hard rubber, so it gives a loud thumb with every strike of the beater. What I’d like to make is a softer, quieter pad, maybe using mesh or foam. I guess I could experiment, but if someone has already designed one it would be a big help.

I know this is an old thread, sorry for resurrecting it. Just didn`t want to open a new one, when I have the very same questions.
Anyway, during these 4 years (since the thread was started), there were some new players in the kick triggering market.
But, very few of them trigger the actual pedal, and none of them are beaterless, except http://triggera.com/kick-pedal-trigger/, which is a new player.
So, I would like to know if there are some other beaterless products besides krigg, and is there any way we can DIY something like this?
