I have the Alesis nitro mesh drums, running via usb to a Lenovo laptop running windows 11 and Ezdrummer 3 version 3.0.6. I have searched repeatedly for a solution for the cymbal choke “failure to release” problem that seems to be fairly common, but have not discovered a solution yet. I have Alesis Nitro selected as my midi drumset. Once the cymbal choke is used, the only way I can regain normal cymbal operation is to exit Ezdrummer3, and then reopen it. I have a second added cymbal which operates in the same manner. I have only had the Ezdrummer 3 program for about a month, and am getting extremely frustrated with this problem. I only use the drums live, I do not use a DAW in any fashion. I will say that I am not experienced in any Edrum software, but I can’t imagine that this is a problem without a solution.
Cymbals should not stay muted if you are using the right preset: Alesis > Nitro (in EZD3/SD3).

But they do exactly that. There was one occasion when they would release. I thought the problem was solved somehow. That has never happened again. Every time I open everything , Mute the cymbals(either of them or both), they stay muted. By muted, I mean choked. Restart the program , EZD3, and I’m back to normal until I choke a cymbal.

EZdrummer version: 3.0.6
Operating system: Windows 11
If you indeed have the preset loaded I can’t think of why it doesn’t work. It’s odd that it worked on one occasion but now doesn’t. Sorry I can’t provide a better solution.
