Custom Kit Question

EZD2
While the hi-hat choices for Modern/Basic and Modern/Dry Rock are the same I prefer the sound of the hats from the Modern/Dry Rock preset.
14” Sabian HHX Grove
14” Paiste Giant Beat

I’m assuming the sound difference is due to the different processing options used for each preset?
Modern/Basic Processing Options
Processing effects listed are: Reverb, Dynamics, Pitch, and Mic Bleed.
Modern/Dry Rock Processing Options
EQ and Mic Bleed
The only way I found to keep the kits sounds from Modern/Basic but use the hats sounds from the Modern/Dry Rock is to add a second instance of EZD2, just for the hats.
Is this the only way to accomplish this?
Does Superior Drummer 3 have a way to do this?
