I keep getting the Audio Engine Active error coming up while in playback mode. The drums play fine for several measures and then I get a loud buzz which interrupts the playback and throws off the beat. If this buzz happens repeatedly, the error message shows up.
I have a standalone version of EZ Drummer 2 on my laptop and I don’t use a DAW — I record the audio from my laptop onto my Korg D3200 directly.
Any advice appreciated.
The Audio out has no place to go from the software………not assigned properly ….What is your playback device…….since you have the Ez Drummer 2 on a Pc ….the Audio is sent to the Pc’s Audio card which is not the Korg D3200 which has it’s own audio out to your speakers …I’m guessing….The settings in Ez Drummer 2 has to be changed so that audio is sent properly to the Korg D3200 …..If the Pc and Ez Drummer 2 does not see the Korg D3200 listed in your devices in it’s setting is not good either …..When the Korg D3200 is seen as a device ….then open your open your “sound control panel “settings and make the Korg D3200 the default device as your “playback device” ….. then in “sound control panel ” go to “recording” tab and choose your recording device “Korg D3200 ? ” the default and save ….Hope I helped you some how !!! you have to some what do this with Ez Drummer 2 settings and your Pc .
Thank you for your help. I’m notoriously old school, so the way I use the software differs from most. I play the completed drum tracks on my PC and use a cable from the audio out jack on the PC to two 1/4 inch input cables running to two tracks on the D3200. I record the finished drum track to the D3200, and from that point, I no longer need the PC.
I realize this is unconventional in the era of DAWs, but it works extremely well for me. Lately I have been having the issue with the buzzing – I believe that my computer is running low on memory when this happens, and I have figured that by restarting my computer, I can mitigate the problem long enough to get a clean playback of the drum track recorded.
Hi
Solved maybe it can be useful
This is more or less solved except for a problem of latency-sound-image synchronization with the drums I had before the last update
but, what must be done to avoid garageband-midi pad controller lockups
is to revert – to come back to last 2.1.8 version by a line code given by Toontrack
And don’t take the latest version with Mac OS Big Sur (for me, it blocked, garage band crashed and froze (wheel spinning endlessly))
