Hello
I am trying to figure out a way to use toontrack solo for live playing (without having to load a DAW) but with little success: these are the drivers I have available on my system (XP SP2, dual core, audigy ZS)
– ASIO4ALL v2: works even at low latencies BUT randomly every 20 sec – 1 minute it will ‘hang’ for a few seconds, making it unusable (note I have never had any issues with Cubase4, Reason4 and Reaper with it, just toontrack solo)
– Creative ASIO: does not load (maybe because it is a locked 48khz driver?)
– SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [A000] does not load
– SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [A000] does not load
– SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [A000] works and is quite solid (no hangups etc.), but I can’t select less than 30ms unfortunately (yes, same name as the previous one)
is there any reason why toontrack solo appears to be a bit more finicky when it comes to audio drivers? Is there anything I can do to improve things? Currently I am using the ZS Asio driver in solo, but I really wish I could go down to 15ms latency, which I am pretty sure my computer is beefy enough to handle (no idea why the second creative driver allows only 30ms)
I am using solo 1.1.1, I haven’t seen anything in the patch notes for later versions about ASIO changes, so I didn’t upgrade to 1.1.2.
I currently use S2 in Reaper with Creative ASIO at 48khz/7ms with no issues whatsoever, it would be nice if I could do the same in toontrack solo for more ease of use.
