Hi,
Does anyone have experience setting up a Pintech variable Hi Hat Controller with an Alesis Trigger i/o?
I’ve plugged the HHC into the ‘inc/dec’ input of the Trigger i/o but when I step on the pedal, pulling the chain down will not send a MIDI message, rather it will scroll through the selected parameter of the Trigger i/o. ( i.e. if I’m on ‘Patch no.’ it will cycle through patches ). Has anyone had similar issues?
My next question would be how to map a variable HH controller to SD2 but will have to figure out the hardware first before I can proceed on…

From looking at the Trigger I/O manual, I think you want to plug into input #9. The one that is labeled Hi-Hat.
The ‘Inc/Dec’ input is where you can hook up a dual footswitch button to remotely increment and decrement values from your dualfootswitch.

Thanks Scott!
I had better luck with the HH input in the first place. Must have misread one of the manuals somehow and thought that I had to switch it to the inc/dec because it’s a variable controller…
Is there a walk-through somewhere that shows how to setup the different levels of open hat sounds in SD2 to the Pintech HHC / Alesis Trigger IO ?
Well, I’m not sure if there is any walk-through specifically for the Trigger i/o and the Pintech but there is a walk-through for some Roland gear. It may be enough to send you in the right direction.
