Alesis Strike Multipad – sounds stop playing unexpectedly

Has anyone used an Alesis Strike Multipad to trigger sounds from EZDrummer 2?

I’ve experienced several occasions where I’ll be playing and EZDrummer 2 will make a loud “pop” sound and then stop playing sounds.

The Multipad will still be working, but it requires me to either quit and restart EZDrummer 2, or within EZDrummer 2 rescan for the MIDI Device. If I have the Multipad and my Alesis Crimson module both connected, I can continue triggering sounds from the module but the multipad doesn’t trigger sounds without a restart or rescan.

I’ve been using EZDrummer 2 for about two years with a few other drum modules and never had this issue before. I’ve swapped out USB MIDI cables in case one was bad and it still happens. Anyone else out there having a similar problem?

It’s not really a “pop” like I previously described. More like all sounds trigger at once then it cuts off.

Thanks for any guidance you may be able to provide to address this problem.

Well, never got any feedback on this forum and never totally resolved the problem, but I did find a workaround. Rather than using a USB-MIDI cable to connect to my computer, I bought and am using a Roland USB MIDI Interface (UM-ONE). That seems to be working fine, with no issues triggering EZ Drummer 2. I hope this is helpful to anyone out there experiencing a similar problem. Cheers!

Could not get EZ Drummer 2 to recognize Alesis Strike Multipad. Did you require a driver? Im using PRotools 12 with EZD.
