Just make sure to NOT have the CC offset option checked in Solo as Pro Tools doesn’t have that magic little option. You need to get the kit playing good without that and then it will work just the same in PTs.
some more food for thoughts on this aspect. First of all the CC offset option probably would be detrimental when using a FD-8 (assuming the stock controller is in use with the TD-3) although it may help with the short travel typically observed from this controller and an acceptable compromise overall.
That said Superior 2.1 has several ‘pedal correction’ presets that are helpful in this scenario. ‘More Open’ should probably improve the response from a FD-8, although this is not an exact science due to variability from unit to unit (as in your FD-8 may be responding quite differently than mine). ‘sharp curve 1’ may feel more suitable for some users (YMMV).
Anyway the main here is that everything that was previously only available in solo can be reproduced in S2.1, with a more refined approach. Check the new edrum section of the manual for details.
