Hi, is it possible to have your midi in notes be different from your midi out notes? Like for instance let’s say my electric drum kit triggers note D2 for snare center but I have snare center assigned to D3. Is there a way within superior drummer to have my midi in set to D2 but the midi out still trigger the snare center which is assigned to D3 or do I have to change the midi out settings in my electric kit?
I know it’s a silly sounding question but I was sent a midi mapping from a bandmate that’s different from the midi mapping on my E drum kit. I’d hate to have to adjust my E drum kits midi settings every time I work with a new person that wants to use their own drum plugin.
If your MIDI controller or electronic drum set isn’t showing up in the manufacturer presets or want to have a custom MIDI map for your controller, you can use the MIDI Learn function which assigns the sample to the pad of your choice. To do this, select the sample you wish to change in the MIDI In/E-Drums settings, click Learn, then hit a pad. For more information, visit the MIDI Mapping section of the Superior Drummer 3 manual.

Cubase Pro, Korg Kronos, M-50, Hammond XK-1c, Toontrack SD3, EZBass w/lots of expansions, many VSL Vi's, Shreddage 3 everything, and shit-tons of FX plugins.
I am more curious why they are sending you a map? Is there an associated MIDI file that is using this map?

I’ve always used Cubase drum maps where you can set the in and out note. Not much use if you don’t use Cubase though!! Just in case anyone who does use Cubase finds it useful.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Basically I write the drums then send him the midi file and he plugs it into his daw using a program called perfect drums. His midi mapping is slightly different than mine so we wanted to line them up.
I found out my kit saves the midi mapping to each preset so I was able to just make a specific kit for my band and customize the midi mapping without changing it for all of my other kits.
SD3’s mappings are one way. Sounds like you need to do things within your DAW and use the mapping that matches your band mates in order to maintain compatibility.
