Get an external drive. Most people on here don’t put the kits on the system drive. I don’t. In fact I have all my libraries on a m.2 drive Andes backed up onto two other drives so I don’t have to download again.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

Your external drive is “fast enough” for e-Drums, no latency ?

The samples are loaded into memory and are not streamed from the drive. It only impacts how long a kit takes to load. So no it has no impact on latency.
That is also why toontrack recommend 16gig of memory.

An m.2 drive is internal on my desktop and is much faster than an ssd drive.
