I’m assuming you’re recording Metal music. I’d agree regarding the stock Metal tones which tend towards pretty crunchy tones imo. I found I needed to add Big Rock Guitars to get a reasonable amount of usable presets to augment the crunchy Metal tones provided by EZMix2 and GB/Logic. The drum tone and pattern presets are there to help work flow and are designed to be controlled by you to some extent. Also, this is an add-on to GB and Logic, not a replacement. I do synth work in Logic’s Alchemy and guitars through either EZMix2 or Amplitube for most tones. But Logic tones and GB tones are great too at times.  As for drums I’d say the mix EZMix2 drum tones are better mixed so maybe you’re having some issue there with something sound wise. Drum pattern presets are pretty much just starting points, they drop as editable midi files but you really need to use a drum pad to make your own beats imo. The pattern search function on EZMix2 drums is useful but there are no good driving Metal drum patterns there. I’m assuming I’d need to buy more drum presets to get more patterns.
