Hi
I have a lot of TOONTRACK products. Both Superior and EZ2 products.
I have recently reinstalled OS on my MAC from scratch. I have all TOONTRACK stuff
on a specific SDD. I tried to use PM and hoped that PM in some way could detect
that everything is already dowloaded, to somehow skip the downloading process…
At least skip the big sample files…
Is it possible?

I have the same question. I made the mistake of switching from High Sierra to Mojave which caused DAW to fail. It would take most of the day to re-download everything. The sound files are all on a remote drive.
Just A Simple Guitar Player
If the downloads (the original ones with original names and of same versions as the currently available ones) are in PM’s download folder, PM will detect them (and just verify) if you start to download again.
For an SDX, if you have an installation and don’t need to install it somewhere else, you can tell PM where it is installed by clicking Show Details and Installation Info, then use the menu to the right.
If you for some reason need the SDX download/installer again and you have an installation somewhere, you could do like this: start the download, then pause it after maybe 10 s. Go into the download folder, into the “.incomplete” folder for that SDX, then into Contents > SL-* > Sounds (if it doesn’t exist, resume the download for a bit longer and pause it again). Copy all .obw files from the Sounds folder that is inside the installation’s path to this Sounds folder. Then resume the download. It should need to download just a little then but the verification may take quite a long time.

Hi there!
I’d like to suggest to Toontrack that you refine Product Manager in the area. I too have both SD3 and EZDrummer and almost all expansions – and I can’t point PM to the folder on my external drive where I keep all these expansions, but have to download XX Gb’s of data wasting precious natural ressources at both ends – OR moving my existing libs back to the download folder !?
I currently have the same discussion with Native Instruments, having the same unreasonable shortcoming in their portal – I’m thinking how many coder hours will it take to change this behaviour, weighted against how many hours we spend on installing shit instead of composing !?
Moderator, do let somebody at HQ know that PM is in for an update – not least as a courtesy to those of us who have invested heavily in your stuff.
Thanks in advance !

actually, I just realized there IS a simple way to point Product Manager to your EZX expansions, by simply deleting your (empty) EZ Drummer folder from the library, then opening EZ Drummer and pointing it to your external location – same process as when moving your files to new loc:
described here:
https://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-move-the-sounds-for-ezdrummer-2/
I still think this should be a part of PM – but at least there’s a workaround 🙂
