How do I get that snare sound!?

  Hi all!
  This is my first post. I hope someone out there can give me a helping hand 🙂

  I am writing a song and feel that the snare should hav a central role. In my mind I hear that snare sound from Voodoo Lady by Live so I have been trying out different snares, stacking them and playing with pitch, tuning etc. Sadly I am nowhere near that sound 🙁
  I´m not a drummer, nor an engineer so I don´t really know what I´m doing so… can someone please help me?

  This might even be a buissness opportunity for superior drummer tweekers out there. Start a youtube channel and make SD3 presets by request 🙂
